A Weekend for Future Bookworms

After going to church last Sunday, we went to SMX in Pasay City to attend the 30th Manila International Book Fair. I decided that letting them go to fairs like this and that of Doulos is one way of supporting their love for books.
Filipinos love to read and it shows here.
Booth selling children's books
A schoolbus for a booth, nice idea!
Inside, there are computers where kids can browse and play.
Shelves and shelves of books abound
Boy: I wonder why there aren't no games here?!
Kids, including Gabby and Sunday enjoyed this laser harp!
Sunday being "electrocuted" at the Diwa Publishing booth
I love listening to the participants
in this storytelling contest. They were all good!
Gabby and Sunday found a book they really like
and it costs P3000! Too pricey!
Books, books, books!

I want to develop my kids' love for reading. I believe in its power.
As what Dr. Seuss said,
“The more you read, the more things you will know.
The more that you learn, the more places you'll go.”

So be it. :)

That's a good way to encourage your kids to become bookworms. Mind if I ask (and pardon my ignorance..hehehe), saan yung SMX? Sensya na, di na ako nakaka-ikot sa Pinas whenever I come home for a visit eh.

I love book fairs, Beth. Good job of taking your kids there. Does the MIBF happen around the same time there every year?

My kids love books too.Maganda talaga habang bata pa sila to explore their knowledge.
Btw,I agree w/ you mommy Beth
Pay It Forward is a very nice movie.Iyak nga ako ng iyak kasi namatay yung bata w/o even knowing na nagspread out pala yung ginawa nya.Kinikilabutan tuloy ako at naiiyak nanaman habang naalala ko yung movie. Thanks for the visit mommy:D

Same value I want to instill with my daughter, the passion on reading.

The book fair seems very interesting. Unfortunately we are too far from SMX.

About the badge, yes this is a design work :) This is the 125x125 button used to represent a site :) Thanks for sponsoring this prize. Please let me know the links that you want to be included in the sponsors' list. Thanks and God Bless you.

Hi Beth..hahaha good you left a comment...i changed my LO that's why you're gone to my blog roll and i forgot to save all the widget b4 i change my LO. So i just wait my friends to come back so i can add them back hahaha.
